Use this page to test any School Connection Intelligence output. You should be able to identify the source and date, understand its scope and limitations, distinguish fact from interpretation, see the human decision and know how to challenge the record.
Source, date, scope, licence and transformation remain visible.
Limitations and uncertainty stay attached to the finding.
People decide materiality, relevance, action and publication.
Challenged records can be corrected, qualified, restricted or removed.
The operating chain
A source records a change, condition or relevant publication.
Source, date, scope, licence and limitations are retained.
Affected organisations, roles and Connected Systems are assessed.
A human reviewer decides the meaning, materiality and appropriate action.
The decision state, action or no action, owner and next review are preserved.
Source governance
For every material source category, the operating standard requires the publisher, source location, access or licence basis, acquisition and verification dates, stated coverage, transformations performed and known limitations to be retained. Open Government Licence material is attributed and is not presented as official endorsement.
Official sources may establish the national or regulatory position. School, trust and public professional sources may show local context. A commercial data provider may add coverage only where provenance and permitted use can be assessed. No source is treated as infallible or complete merely because it is official or public.
Several sources describing the same development strengthen one canonical intelligence item. They do not become several artificial opportunities. An item can have one primary Connected System and several secondary systems, allowing one issue to be followed without duplication or inflation.
Evidence labels and limitations
| Evidence type | What it can support | What it cannot prove alone |
|---|---|---|
| Official record | The published status, event or value within the source’s stated scope. | Current local implementation, future intent or a requirement outside that scope. |
| School or trust publication | A statement, policy, project, role or concern published by the organisation. | That every detail remains current or that a supplier is being sought. |
| Geographic or proximity context | A reason to investigate a relationship between place, infrastructure and a school cohort. | Catchment, service connection, causation or an affected institution without further evidence. |
| Matched multi-source pattern | A stronger basis for prioritised human investigation. | Buying intent, budget, authority, procurement route or guaranteed timing. |
| Client-supplied information | The agreed commercial question, known relationship or account context. | Independent verification unless corroborated. |
Fact, inference and commercial relevance
A fact is presented as the source records it, with scope and date. An analytical inference is identified through the evidence supporting it and the uncertainty that remains. Commercial relevance is a separate human judgement about whether a supplier’s capability is genuinely connected to the operational condition.
What the source records, with its date and scope.
A reasoned interpretation with supporting evidence and remaining uncertainty.
A separate human decision about whether the condition genuinely connects to the supplier’s capability.
need, available budget, purchasing authority, tender timing, supplier eligibility, buying intent, a sales-ready lead, a future contract or a commercial outcome.
Canonical issues and Connected Systems
Connected Systems keep one issue linked to every material consequence without representing the same evidence as several separate opportunities. The original source, interpretation and limitations remain attached wherever the issue is viewed.
AI and automation governance
Collect, normalise, match, deduplicate, classify, compare, monitor and assist drafting.
Materiality, commercial relevance, decision state, material client-facing claims, editorial participation and corrections.
Turn generated text into fact, remove limitations, manufacture buying intent, override licences or permissions, or make a solely automated significant decision about a person.
Two protected audiences
School Connection explains change for school and trust leaders in the public interest. School Connection Intelligence separately explains relevant supplier market context. Supplier payment or participation cannot direct School Connection’s question, evidence, conclusion, correction or withdrawal decision.
Public School Connection material may be linked as evidence of the school-leader conversation. It is not converted into an endorsement and it does not disclose the private opportunity, contact or client layer.
Corrections and challenges
A school, trust, professional, source owner or client may challenge a factual record, personal detail, interpretation or stated limitation. A correction request should identify the item, the disputed point and supporting evidence. Material errors are corrected; where the evidence remains disputed, the record may be qualified, restricted or removed while it is reviewed.

Change control and review
Published intelligence is source-dated. A material change may strengthen, weaken, resolve or supersede an assessment. The appropriate response may be a revised evidence note, a client alert, a changed cohort, an editorial review or no external action. Historic wording is not silently reused as current evidence.
